SUMMER PICNIC RECIPE DEMO WITH AMY SYMINGTON

VegOttawa is excited to present a demonstration of three tasty and nutritious summer picnic recipes with Amy Symington.
Learn how to make kid and crowd pleasing lavender lemonade, chickpea salad sandwiches, and chocolate avocado mousse.
When: August 18th, at 11am
Where: Over zoom (the link will be emailed to you the day before)
What you need: Bring yourself, your friends, your kids and any questions you might have about the recipes or plant-based nutrition.
When you get your tickets on Eventbrite, the ingredients, the recipes and a recording of the event will be emailed to you, so you can make these recipes at your leisure after the demonstration.
About Amy:
Amy Symington, M.Sc. is a nutrition professor, researcher and plant-based chef at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada. She has over 20 years experience in the food industry including in restaurants, catering events large and small, in community kitchens and colleges. She is the culinary nutrition coordinator at Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto, a not-for-profit organization for those touched by cancer, and is an active Toronto Vegetarian Association (TVA) volunteer, and also volunteers with the Toronto Veg Food Bank (TVFB) as a chef and nutrition consultant. She actively engages in recipe development and food writing for various publications in Canada and worldwide. Amy focuses on evidence-based health and environmental benefits of plant-based diets and is the author of The Long Table Cookbook: Plant-based recipes for optimal health. Her aim is to inspire the public to sound nutrition and good health with practical tools and hearty enjoyable plant-based food.
