VegOttawa Association
Who are we, and what do we do?
VegOttawa Association is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization committed to promoting and supporting plant-based and vegan lifestyle, bringing benefits such as reduced environmental impact, better individual and public health, and putting an end to animal exploitation.
• We partner with local veg-friendly businesses who provide discounts to our members.
• We host community events, including VegOttawa Fest and more.
• We advocate for plant-forward policy change, for animals, health, and the environment.
• We provide access to vegan resources.

The organization is funded by members and partnerships, and operated by volunteers, which means your volunteer support is needed!
VEGAN ON THE SHELVES!
What if we could find more vegan books for free?
Did you know that readers having a subscription to the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) or the Bibliothèque de Gatineau can suggest books that have been published for less than 2 years?
If you live outside the Ottawa/Gatineau areas, check your local libraries. They may offer this possibility too!
Let’s ask the libraries for more vegan books!
Our goal is to suggest 30 books in 30 days!
VegOttawa Fest is back again! Coming up on July 25 2026, 10 am to 5 pm at the Ottawa Conference and Event Center. FREE to attend, check out the vendors, activities, and speakers! More information:
As we are a non-profit organization, your support will help us continue to advocate for the animals, the environment and health, and provide vegan resources and community support. Send a donation by e-transfer to info@vegottawa.org with “Donation” in the memo.
VegOttawa Association was formerly known as the National Capital Vegetarian Association (NCVA), established in 2006.
All references to NCVA, VegOttawa, or VO also apply to VegOttawa Association.
